When to get emergency help

Call 999 for an ambulance or visit your nearest accident and emergency (A&E) department if you have heart palpitations and any of the following symptoms: severeshortness of breath chest pain or tightness dizziness or light-headedness fainting or blackouts These symptoms could indicate a serious or potentially life-threatening heart problem that should be checked by a doctor as soon as possible.
